The plot with a highly pronounced topography is situated in the outskirts of the town Oaxaca. This southwestern zone of Mexico has a dry and warm climate. A retention wall of rough local stone forms the platform for the building. The two level L-shaped house lies on this stone wall and is orientated to the garden and the spectacular view of mount Felipe. A landscape of native grasses, fruit trees, herb gardens, and access stairs surrounds the building completely. The austere and orthogonal architecture with its plastered brown facade connects naturally with the existing and constructed landscape in the context of Oaxaca.
